2020 Ford SuperDuty | Van Isle Ford

North America’s toughest heavy-duty truck, the Ford Super Duty, returns better than ever for 2020. Among other upgrades, the full-size pickup now boasts a brand-new 7.3L gasoline V8 engine and updated styling. Keep reading to find out more about what makes the latest Super Duty a leader in its segment.

The Ford Super Duty is available in a wide range of trim levels and configurations. Available grades include XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. When it comes to body styles, the options include Regular Cab, Super Cab, or Crew Cab. Both 6.8-foot and 8.2-foot bed lengths are available, as are dual rear wheels.

What’s new for 2020

Several noteworthy upgrades have been added to the 2020 Ford Super Duty. The biggest news is the introduction of an all-new 7.3L gasoline engine and 10-speed automatic transmission. Additional highlights include updated front and rear styling, along with a first-ever Tremor Off-Road Package.

Design

As always, the Ford Super Duty boasts a design that seamlessly blends form and function. The truck’s eye-catching body is made from high-strength, military-grade aluminum. Plus, the exterior incorporates thoughtful touches, such as available power-deployable running boards and a power tailgate with an integrated step. Everything rides on a fully-boxed, high-strength steel frame.

Then there’s the interior. On high-end trim levels, the cabin comes decked out with leather upholstery and wood trim. All grades also get handy storage compartments under the rear seats (four-door models), multiple charging outlets and USB ports.

Performance

The Ford Super Duty can tackle nearly any job, thanks to its robust powertrain. Engine options include a 6.2L V8 (385 hp, 430 lb.-ft.), the previously mentioned 7.3L V8 (430 hp, 475 lb.-ft.) and a 6.7L Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 (475 hp, 1,050 lb.-ft.).

A 10-speed automatic transmission backs both the new gas engine and the diesel engine. The 6.2L V8, on the other hand, gets a 6-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel-drive comes standard across the lineup; four-wheel-drive is available.

And what about towing? When properly equipped, the Super Duty has a conventional towing capacity of up to 24,200 lbs. and a maximum gooseneck towing capacity of 37,000 lbs. Maximum fifth-wheel towing comes in at 32,500 lbs.

As was mentioned, there’s also an all-new Tremor Off-road Package. Designed for unmatched off-road ability, the bundle includes equipment, such as a front-end lift, 35-inch tires and a Trail Control System.

Technology

To help you get the job done in comfort and style, the 2020 Ford Super Duty offers the latest technology. Key features include FordPass Connect™ with Wi-Fi access, a wireless device charger, and USB-C ports. Plus, the Super Duty offers the latest driver assistance technologies, such as Lane-Keeping Alert, a Blind Spot Information System, and Pre-Collision Assist.
