For 2020, the Ford Edge is available in four trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium, and the high-performance ST. Model year updates include the addition of a new Titanium Appearance Package, standard dual-zone automatic temperature control, and several new exterior colors.
Design
The 2020 Ford Edge looks the part of a class leader. Exterior design elements include a dynamic front grille, large-diameter wheels, and sleek body lines. The ST trim level turns things up a notch with performance-oriented design cues, such as a black mesh grille and trapezoidal dual exhaust tips.
Inside, form meets function with standard perforated leather-trimmed seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. All Edge models also come with illuminated front scuff plates and ambient interior lighting. A rotary gear selector replaces the traditional gear shifter.
Performance
Unlike most SUVs, the 2020 Ford Edge is just as fun as its versatile. SE, SEL, and Titanium trim levels pack an EcoBoost turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine rated at 250 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. All models come with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive (with an optional disconnect feature) is available.
While the four-cylinder engine is peppy, if you’re looking for serious power, you’ll want to step up to the ST model. The ultra-high-performance SUV features an EcoBoost 2.7L V6 cranking out 335 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. An 8-speed automatic transmission performs shifting duties and all-wheel drive comes standard. Additional go-fast goodies include a sport-tuned suspension, as well as performance brakes and a performance steering system.
And guess what else? The 2020 Ford Edge has towing capability. When properly equipped, the SUV has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. (1587 kg.). Trailer Sway Control is also available to help you manage whatever you’re pulling.
