Although the Ford F-150 may continue to be at the top of the list of top selling vehicles for Ford Canada, there is another vehicle that is set to become the cornerstone of Ford’s product portfolio. The all-new 2020 Ford Escape now offers an all-new look, more space than most in its class, a classier and roomier interior as well as a variety of powertrain choices.
Bigger & Better
Available in four available models, including the S, SE, SEL and Titanium trim levels, the all-new Ford Escape is now getting bigger and better. Built on a 20-millimetre longer wheelbase and a 20-mm wider track, this popular Ford SUV now offers more interior space. Offering best-in-class second-row leg room of 89 millimetres more than the outgoing model, second-row 60/40 split-fold seats with a new sliding feature and up to 949 litres of cargo space.
Three Engine Lineup
Along with added space, the 2020 Ford Escape also offers a choice of three engines. Beginning with a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder EcoBoost engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology and the capability to produce up to 180 HP and 177 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine also features cylinder deactivation that improves fuel economy and can even provide enough power to tow a 909-kilogram trailer. Those who are looking for a little more oomph might be interested in the reworked 2.0-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder that ups the horsepower to 250 HP and 275 lb.-ft. of torque and offers the convenience of an 8-speed SelectShift automatic or sporty manual transmission. For those who prefer a more earth friendly SUV should inquire about the newest Ford Escape hybrid with a 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle powertrain that is partnered with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (CVT) and an 88-kW electric motor.
Comfortably in Control
For those cold Canadian winters, the entire Ford Escape inventory at our Port Alberni dealership also includes features that will help you feel comfortable and in control even when the temperature drops. Along with a heated steering wheel and seats, this Canadian friendly SUV also includes an engine block heater, remote start, windshield wiper de-icer and available all-weather floor mats.
Wide Range of Available Technologies
Like most new SUV models, the Escape also offers a wide range of available technologies to keep you aware of your surroundings and ever-changing traffic conditions. Beginning with Ford Co-Pilot360 that offers a suite of driver-assist technologies like Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert, Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and a Rear-View Camera. Also, standard are convenience packages like an available 12.3-inch instrument cluster that’s reconfigurable, and an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system that includes a Wi-Fi hotspot and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
